Our braided rugs are well-made and well-loved. We started with our variegated yarn braids over 100 years ago. These colorful, durable designs are made to meet the rigorous demands of life. We have now included details like handspun wool and patented sewing threads. Today, we draw from that heritage to create classics with updated, distinctive styles and authentic appeal.
We are quality obsessed! Capel means quality inside and out. You will find our American craftsmanship in every design. Our braided and woven collections are made in the USA by skilled rug weavers who specialize in braided rugs. We use highly resilient yarns and proprietary threads to reinforce the durability and strength of every design.
Braided rugs are classic, textural, and reversible!
As a product designer, I strive to keep the heritage of the original braids and bring a modern twist to the designs. Incorporating various yarn, and braid types and sewing them into various shapes and patterns and creates a textural rug that can work in literally any design style.
You can see how perfectly the Bayview braided rug compliments this very transitional room. The texture of this rug is phenomenal it has multiple braids with a wool chenille included to give a high-low pile effect.
Braids are available in many sizes as well as in custom sizes and there are many shapes to select from.
Even our small sizes are big on detail!
We offer several indoor and outdoor braided rugs as well. The newest is the Down East collection.
Many other types of rug constructions don't offer the flexibility of being reversible, custom sized, or as durable.
We also pride ourselves in being a completely vertical manufacturer of braids, as well as woven goods. Meaning we start with the raw wool and oversee the yarns thru the spinning, dyeing, braiding, and sewing processes, directly into a completed product. This ensures the quality you will receive and also knowing that it is made in Troy, North Carolina by skilled craftsmen is what truly sets Capel Braided rugs apart from other types of rugs!
